Meet the Band

Never My Silence (NMS) was formed in 2006 in a basement with members- Dewey Crain (Lead Vocals), Carl Buttry (Guitar/Back up Vocals), Brett Buttry (Bass/Back up Vocals) ) and Craig Kopplin (Drums).

With more than 25 years of band experience NMS was formed on the basis of creating a new stigma for local, original bands. The music that NMS creates is inspired solely on life experience. Never My Silence has built a reputation of writing and performing music, that is best described as “dirty, oldschool, Americana, HardRock” -Dewey Crain.

Never My Silence is classified in the Rock Genre, however many of their original songs could easily cross over into other genres as well. NMS has played with National acts including Cavo, Operator, Modern Day Zero and Powerman 5000 and many local bands. They have performed in the Missouri/Illinois region at, Verizon Wireless Amphitheater (Pointfest 2008), POP’S Nightclub (Sauget, IL), The Pageant (Central West), to name a few. With the release of their self titled album, Never My Silence in 2008, they became one of the most popular and sought after local bands in St. Louis. “Having seen them once, I can say they are not to be missed. Recently we have been in the studio recording our second album. This new release includes titles such as Hell and Gone, House of Glass, Love Sex Lies, Love You To Death and many more. All of the songs on this new album are solely based off of real life experiences from one band member or another. The lyrics for each song come from the depths of Dewey’s soul. Carl, Brett & Craig then begin playing riffs and drum beats to further enhance the lyrics. Being that we have all been together for so many years, it is not uncommon for a song to be completely written in a matter of hours, from beginning to end. There have been many instances where there has been a very unique lead or riff played and then the lyrics are applied to it.

We have teamed up with the best local talent in the St. Louis area to produce our new album, which is set to be released in 2012. The music on this album is by far the best we have ever written and we cannot wait to share it with all of you. We look forward to seeing all of our fans and meeting new ones at our upcoming shows.
